Forms of Support

The system of administration of the Financial Mechanisms EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanism for the whole period of implementation in the Czech Republic was governed by measures of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Implementation of the EEA for the period 2004-2009 and the Memorandum of Understanding for Implementation of the Norwegian Financial Mechanisms for the period 2004-2005. The Memorandum summarized information regarding the roles and responsibilities of participating subjects, specification of supported priority areas and coordination the usage of financial mechanisms.

In the Czech Republic, the funds from the Financial Mechanisms EEA/Norway were distributed to the final beneficiaries in three ways. The largest amount of funds was distributed to individual projects. The second and third sources of distribution were Block Grants, which, through specific Funds and Programmes distributed smaller grants.
